Dental Surgery

Dental surgery is an important branch of dentistry, but it is not practiced to the full extent by every dentist. More complex procedures should be performed by a dentist specialized in this field. Proper experience and diagnostic facilities are also needed. Many patients are afraid of surgical interference, but we reassure you that modern pharmacology enables it to be performed painlessly. We make every effort to ensure that our patients feel as little discomfort as possible during procedures, regardless of the level of complexity.

At the Unimedex Dental Clinic we perform both simple and more complex dental surgery procedures. Simple ones include extractions of milk teeth and some extractions of permanent teeth. More complex ones include for example removal of wisdom teeth, impacted teeth or severely damaged teeth. Below is a list of dental surgery procedures that we perform.

Dental surgery procedures carried out by us:

  • incisions of abscesses
  • gingivectomy
  • extractions of milk teeth
  • extractions of permanent teeth
  • root apex resections
  • hemisections
  • removal of impacted teeth
  • surgical removal of wisdom teeth
  • removals of cysts

Our many years of clinical experience have shown that the use of PRF minimizes the incidence of complications and leads to rapid tissue regeneration.

At the Unimedex Dental Clinic, we use PRF after every dental surgery procedure

In order to speed up wound healing and minimize incidence of complications, we apply PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) after each dental surgery procedure. We obtain the fibrin from the patient’s venous blood just before the start of a procedure, by centrifuging the collected blood at an appropriate speed. Our many years of clinical experience have shown that the use of PRF minimizes the occurrence of complications and fosters faster bone tissue regeneration. This, for example, enables implantation after a fairly short amount of time after tooth extraction. More about PRF in our Blog Post about PRF.

Precise radiological diagnostics before as well as after dental surgery procedures

At the Unimedex Dental Clinic we have modern, digital, x-ray imaging machines. We perform point-of-care (local dental) x-rays, two-dimensional panoramic X-rays, 3D-CBCT cone tomography, as well as 3D-CBCT segmented tomography. High-quality radiographic images allow us to perform very precise preoperative diagnosis. We are able to clearly define the areas affected by lesions and accurately plan the step by step course of dental surgery procedures. After the dental surgery is completed, we also take x-rays of the post-operative area to further ensure that procedures were carried out successfully. You can read more about the radiological diagnostics done at our dental clinic on our separate sub-page about 3D-CBCT tomography.

We work as a team

The staff of the Unimedex Dental Clinic is comprised of dentists with many years of experience supported by experienced dental assistants. Thanks to teamwork, procedures at our clinic are carried out quickly, efficiently and successfully.
